Arturs, 1) I don't even know how you were able to get the information from Raduraksti. On my grandmother's Declaration of Intention, she lists Karlis Ozols birthdate as March 22, 1895.They married April 28, 1930.I may be able to get someone's help with the Russian. My grandmother said that her husband died March 29, 1971.She did share the news with me regarding his passing when she heard. No one in my family really talked about their past to me, and I did not ask. However, I do remember when my dad received news about his sister's passing. He does not have her date of death in his calendar. 2) The only thing I have regarding my grandmother's husband is a poem that she wrote, and I am sure it was about him.I do not know anything about why she left him behind, except maybe to help her daughter with her two children (George was about 3 years old and my sister, Marita, was 4 months old).My grandmother has written a poem about her past to me, it is handwritten and entitled Zala Ceturtdsena.I need to get it translated. 3) I will write to Ivars about getting a 1938 map of the farms. Is his address the same as Agita's? 4) I called my younger brother who has all my father's letters. He scanned a few and sent them to me.They are all handwritten except for one, and I am unable to tell who the sender is for most of them. The date of the letter written by my father to Fricis Murnieks was April 14, 1946.The dates for the other letters my brother scanned look like:March 10, 1946; March 12, 1946, and April 16, 1947.The one in German I translated using Google. Google seems to work ok for German but not so great translating Latvian to English.I really need to find someone who will translate the letters for me for a reasonable price.Any suggestions? 5) I looked back at the letter to Fricis (Fredi) that my dad had typed in German. At the end it says my sincerest regards to you and Minna. Is Minna a name? 6) The photo of the gravesite of my father's grandfather was beside the picture of the Kandava church that was dated August 1962.The gravesite photo has two of the people that my father had written Rozini at the bottom of the picture, a man and a woman. The picture of the gravesite has grown wild flowers, so it probably is an older grave.I really don't have any other information.I feel I could go forward on my father's side of the family, if I knew who his grandparents were.Maybe the letters my brother has will give me some of the answers I would like to have. 7) Looks like I am going to get some practice using the Raduraksti. Not easy reading for me.
