I am from the el azem family from syria, and I can assure you wew are of Arab origin not turkish, and we have no turkish blood. Our forefathers hunderds of years ago came from the Arabian pennisula. We were originally bedioun, sheep herders. Our origins in Syria are in Maarat Al Numan, from thier we spread on to other places in syria. Many of the elazem reside in Hama and Damascus. Thier is also a branch of the family in Jordan. They originate from the southern part of Jordan on the Saudi border. During the 1800's the alzem family was at its full power in Syria weatlth wise and politically. pls don't belive some of the things said about the el azem, thier are not turkish the name is purely arabic which means "the bones" it is said that the name originated from bin azeem, due to the Ottoman empire ruling the arabs at that time it might of changed to el azem some write it al azem due to the turks not being able to pronounce it. We are till date one of the biggest families in Syria.
