Hi Sandy. This is interesting, although I don't think I can add too much more. The old ones in my family have mostly passed on (except like I said in my earlier reply, Ann Decker).
I don't recall knowing any Boreks, but I still think we are likely related.I do recall as a kid hearing my father say we had "distant relatives" in the Pittsburgh area, both on the Decker and Korey sides, and that, when my grandfather was alive, they had made the trip to visit (in the 50's).
For what it's worth, my grandfather's brother spelled Korey differently than he did - spelled it Curry. Some other cousins spelled it Koury. They were pretty much at the mercy of the person at Ellis Island, for getting their English spelling, I suppose. It seems the Lebanese had all kinds of translating going on.I graduated with a guy I later found out to be a 2nd cousin, whose grandfather was a Korey, but ended up with an English last name of Mike.Go figure.
Anyway, good luck, and if you are ever in NY / Hyde Park, look us up!
