Hello, My name is Nadia...and I have been trying to reconstruct my family tree from my Lebanese side. This is what I have so far: My grandfather's family came from Lebanon, a small town just North East of Beirut called Ghazir. My great grandfather came with the name LIBERA, but there's a good question: At first, it was believed that my great grandafather changed his original name (unkown to all) to LIBERA when he migrated to Cuba in the turn of the century. However, the other day I met a Lebanese doctor who told me LIBERA was a well known name in Lebanon...which one is it? Secondly: My great grandmother's name was Concepcion Gobaira- Jalik... Her husband's name was Pablo Libera-Zain. My family migrated to Santiago de Cuba around 1913 (not sure exactly)... My family tree is online, to whomever would like to take a crack at solving this... My family were Catholic Maronites, and most probably left Lebanon because of Religious persecution... PLEASE, if you have ANY information whatsoever, I WILL LISTEN.PLEASE E-MAIL me. Thank you so much!
