My relatives are from Seredzius,(Veliuona)the eastern side of the Nemunas River, south of Jurbarkus and north of Vilnius area and the only thing I have so far to tell on these records is from my cousin:
"It is expected increase in digitized Seredžius the Roman Catholic Church Registry books in 2012."
He found parts of the family back 4 generations, which I never expected to find out about. Some of what I have gotten from him is the occupation, survivors and names which may all be written within the records he looks at.
This is such a tiny town, that I think there must be others doing the same thing. Probably further along then they are.
He's in Vilnius, so he has more access to databases there than I do. I suspect he's doing this from home in Vilnius on the computer, rather than going to Seredzius. My Lithuanian is non existent, never knew any. Polish I knew some of with my mother's side of the family years ago so communication is spotty.
