I want to thank all the wonderful people from Luxembourg who helped me with my research of immigrants from Luxembourg to Central Minnesota. Over the past 13 years I was able to identify about 850 persons who came through Stearns County and Vicinity between 1854 - 1920. Your help really advanced this study.
The database has approximately 6500 names. and it includes American-born children of immigrants and their spouses. It does not include grandchildren. Some families are complete with this first generation, and other people have only one or two facts attached to their names. Whenever possible I clarified family ties between these immigrants, and now the descendants can identify all their newly found American cousins!
I have included a few names of persons who were born to Luxembourg immigrants in other Midwest settlements. Many were from Ozaukee County, Wisconsin, and I tried, when possible, to find the names of their parents. There were a few names from Illinois and from Iowa also.
I have transferred the entire file and ownership to the Stearns History Museum, and it is now available through them on a CD in a PDF format. The database has 420 pages of names, and it is searchable. There are maps included as well.
I will attempt to keep track of important changes and any new data on these people, and if necessary, there may eventually be a second publishing in the future.
