My name is Stoj and I live in Melbourne Australia. Although I am not from Dragosh, I have a keen interest in the history of the village. As such, I am also very interested in any infromation anyone can provide me with. My wife has a great-grand father and grandmother alive who were born and lived in Dragosh until the early 60's, about the time that everyone else also left. My wife, Vera, comes from the Gorsev (Gorsevski/Stojanovski) family. Her great grandfather is Endrea and has a sister in Detroit Michigan, her name is Lenka Minovska, and another sister in Geelong Selfija (Nedelkovska). Vera's grandmother is Vasa, unfortunatelly grandfather has passed away, he was Vasil Stojanovski.
We have a video documentary on the village which is very detailed and facinating. I also have some texts I have discovered about the tradgedy that occured in 1907, where upto 45 people of the village were burned to death in their own homes by Greek terrorists. Follow the link:
I also have a book, written in Macedonian, that describes the same event. I can forward you a copy by request.
At the moment, I am video recording Dedo Endrea's stories of the village, and hope to be able to share it eventually in written form and video.
If you also have some historical information on the village, I would love to hear from you. I would love to build a Wikipedia page for it. It is up to us to record our history for our kids, because once we lose touch with the past, we will never regain it again.
