There were lots of Yaquis in southern Arizona/northern Sonora from the earliest days of the arrival of the Spanish. There homeland is on the Yaqui River in southern Sonora, but they were (and are)everywhere. Some of the early Coronas were at Tubac in southern Arizona in the 18th and 19th centuries.See:
