Hi Pat,
surfing at the internet on the name Kelderman I found your thread. Amongst my fore fathers there are members of the Kelderman family as well. Jan Hendrik Kelderman was miller at Bronkhorst the smalles place with " townrights"in The Netherlands. Together with his wive Judith Starink he had twelve children, nine of them got over their childhood. All seven surviving sons were millers as well and one of the two daughters remarried in a second marriage with a miller was well. Judith/Judika died at the age of only fourty (no surprise having twelve children in sixteen years and possibly some miscarriages in between).During the last years of the live of Judith, Jan Hendrik was in a legal dispute with the nobleman he rented the mill from. He was apr. 1.500 guilders back in paying. In the year after the dead of Judith Jan Hendrik moved to Sloten near Amsterdam. He remarried in 1806and got three more daughters. After some years however he returned to the area where he came from and died in Zutphen in 1814. Remarkably the deadcertificate only states that he was the widower of Judica and does not even mention his second wife, Maria Wecke. It also says that he had nine surviving children, which is wrong as they were only the nine ones of the first marriage who survived him and did not include the two daughters of the second marriage who were still alive at that time.
The father of Jan Hendrik was Jan Derk Kelderman, who also was the miller at Bronkhorst. He died at 22 januari 1808 in Hengelo Gelderland. He was born and baptised in 1718 at the St. Remigius katholic church in Borken Germany as Johann Dirck Kellermann(!). He married with Cornelis van Eck/Neck, who also was the daughter of a miller, David van Eck/Neck. Not only son Jan Hendrik was a miller, also some of his brothers.
Jan Derk at his turn was the son of Adam Heinrich Kellermann who married at 7 november 1708 at St. Remigius in Borken with Anna Margaretha Tendahl, born 16 nov 1680 in Borken as the daughter of Henrich Tendahl and Elsken Westerinck.. Of course Adam Heinrich was miller as well at the " Gut Engelrading"in Marbeck a spot near Borken.
I spring of one of the sons of the first mentioned Jan Hendrik, Jan Derk was was a miller as well. (he died in 1869over 80 years old in Rijssen). He was married to Gezina Coops, born at Zelhem near Bronkhorst. The Coops family also included many millers for 400 years. Theere daughter Egberdina Judika Kelderman was one of my great great grandmothers.
