NZ Death Reg 1905/6512 LEE Mary 60Y 28/12/1905 DEATH FROM SHOCK.
DEATH FROM SHOCK. Telegraph Press Association Copyright Auckland, December 28. As a trap driven by W. Lee was coming round the corner of Market Road into Remuera Road it collided with a tramcar bound for town. Lee escaped injury but the horse was killed. Lee on his return home told his wife of the accident. He then went out, and on his return home found his wife lying on the floor in an unconscious condition. He summoned medical aid at once, but Mrs Lee did not recover consciousness and died at 9 o'clock this morning. It is believed that death was hastened by shock on hearing of her husband's narrow escape.
