Alfred Forman only worked in Northern Ireland for a short time. I visited Belfast a couple of years ago & was able to get some information about my grandfather's work from lecturer Paul Larmour at Queens University Belfast. Dr Larmour is interested in my grandfather because his designs were rather "oddball" but I know so little. He was in practice as far as I know in Londonderry on his own & in Belfast with a Mr Aston. He actually trained in Melbourne Victoria Australia. The only buildings I have seen of his are in Belfast- especially interesting is Ballnafeigh Methodist Church, Ormeau Rd in Belfast which seems to be ahead of its time. I would have loved to have visited Londonderry & would be so grateful for any photos of his work in that city viz 2 Butcher St Derry, Carlisle Rd Methodist Church, NCC Club & Northern Counties Hotel. However my main frustration is that I can't find out where or when he died. I know he left Australia after some 20 years there in 1926 & returned to the UK but that is where the trail ends.
