I know you really want to do this for yourself but let me pass along a few things I've noticed that you can check in detail later (or toss -no matter to me). Taryn's posting below of 13 May 19:11:13 includes a very interesting link and a sentence or two of really interesting tidbits. "Eideboka : gard og slekt" is the proper title of a 4 volume bygdebok series for Eide area of Møre og Romsdal by Jonny Lyngstad. The LDS Family History Library online catalog indicates that volume 1 includes "Innhold: b. 1. Krekvika, Stakkvika, Strand, Herskedalen, Kjøl, Sorset, Ugelstad, Øyen".Notice Ugelstad??same farm name as Taryn's link gave in connection to the unwed father Halvor Jensen! That's a clue you should not throw away.I believe Eide to have been a neighboring area to Kvernes, Fræna (source: Wikipedia entry for Møre og Romsdal and related links; NOT an area I've ever studied for my own purposes).
The 1865 census lists only 4 Halvor Jensens who are living in Møre og Romsdal.I was drawn to the one living in Bolsøy but born in Kvernes 1832 only by a hunch.(I went to the census to get clues about birth years and places). So I checked in the 1832 birth/baptismal records for Kvernes and found: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=2281&idx_id=2281&uid=ny&idx_side=-24http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=2281&idx_id=2281&uid=ny&idx_side=-24
Pale, washed out record BUT entry #85 looks to me like a Halvor born to parents Jens Halvorsen and Ingeborg Olsdatter and PERHAPS a mention of a farm location that MIGHT be Uglestad or similar? That will take you detective work and great eyesight if you decide to pursue it. Good luck and enjoy!
