With a name like Gunwar or Gunvor, it was common to take a more Americanized name for everyday use (including censuses) but use the official name for documents like a wedding.
I did find a death of a James Burton Palmer, in 1921 in Fountain, Fillmore County, Minnesota. With the wife named Jennie (a good replacement for a name like Gunvor or Gunwar.) Maybe finding the obit for him by requesting it at the Fillmore County historical society would give a clue about his wife.
