I'm not related to the family.I have no photos or any additional information about Hansine, her family or her husband.
I looked for her by searching for females with given names starting with HANS...(not Hasine). It wasn't a very common name for females so it immediately narrowed down the field, then among those with last names starting with HANS, etc.
Ster is NOT a Norwegian name so when I saw the girl with a mother named Ester/Esther I knew that had to be the right one - and the father's name was more what would be expected for Norway than "Torlive" which I've never seen before. But many of your spellings started rather oddly so I wasn't really surprised.
The same was true when searching the Ellis Island records.Female from Norway or Scandianavia, given name starting with Hans, surname starting with Hans and approximately the age that you gave for her earlier (give or take a few years).I didn't notice any family members on that ship's manifest page. I did that search at - http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellisgold.htmlhttp://www.jewishgen.org/databases/EIDB/ellisgold.html?
You have to register to use it - but that is free.
If you have arrival record for Nels then that should tell you where he sailed from.If you can connect that to a specific Norwegian port then you can check the emigration register there and probably learn exactly where in Norway he came from -- the detail will be important. His name is far too common to hope to find without more information.Don't expect the spelling to be exact with what you expect.
