You really need to get a Facebook (FB) account or a better email account like hotmail, gmail, or yahoo; besides, they?re all free.
So get out of your paranoia neurosis and embrace technology.
To answer your previous question; yes, I have somewhat given up on my family. I no longer announce that I am taking a trip nor do I call relatives. In the past few years, I have had more than my share of "No Shows," cancellations at the last minute, lame excuses, and ego encounters or non-ego encounters. Yes, I have been hurt, especially with trust and sincerity issues; both psychologically and financially. Don?t our relatives know how expensive it is to travel and the sacrifices we make just to meet in person, vis-a-vis, face to face. #$!>(*#@.
Needless-to-say, that is why I no longer rely or go out of my way to meet and greet them. Its been too painful and the rewards remain too few.
If a relative wants help, I WILL still go out and assist them, BUT I need them to go at least halfway,…I no longer go out on a limb,…I have fallen too many times, and it still hurts. SOOOO, if and when this family reunion occurs on American soil--Las Vegas 2015--you can expect me to pitch in, BUT only IF and WHEN most of the details have been finalized, …say a date, a committee, and lots of commitment from the family,…only then, will I give it my 200%.
Hope this helps, may it be soon,…may you have a better communication besides borrowing a mobile text. Till then,
