Hello!I am at my wits end with my search and am looking for some help.My great grandfather is believed to have immigrated to the US around 1892 and initally used the name Andrej Rysula in Wisconsin. I also found a draft registration where he used John Andrew Rysula, maybe because his father, Andrej Rysula, was also in Wisconsin. JR, as I'll call him, changed his name to Andrew Rezula when he moved to Chicago about 1920. In all of the records I have found he never listed a city of birth, and instead he used the countries Hungary, Austria, and even Germany once. His date of birth shows as October 23, 1875 on his draft registration, but census records vary between 1875 and 1877.I've not found any immigration records or have any idea exactly how/when he arrived. I have gone the route of finding some information on his relatives and found out his brother, recorded as Matyas Riszula, had 2 children born in Strocin, Slovakia about 1910. The records in Strocin also show some other Rezulas died there in the early 1880s and those Rezulas were from Ratulow, Poland. When JR died in 1940, his death certificate had the city of Zakopane listed as his birth place. I asked a genealogist to look for birth records of Ratulow in the Krakow diocese and she could not find any Rysula born in 1875. She found 2 Josefs born in 1876 but they did not have the sisters with the same names as my JR (Agnes and Mary). Well, one Josef did have a sister named Marianna, but she was born in 1871 and none of her records in the US census show a birth year for her other than 1875. In summary, this is the family I am looking for: Andrej Rysula/Rezula/Risula (SR) born about 1838. Married to a Regina. They had at least 4 children: Agnes - born about 1868 Mary- born about 1875 Andrej- born about 1875-1877 Matyas- born ?? Can anyone give me ideas on what to do next?I've tried looking at all of the polish indexes online and can not locate the marriage for Andrej and Regina or the births of their children.
