Francisco C Ramos

My Great Grand father Francisco C Ramos came to San Francisco CA.from Portugal in 1861 at which time he changed his name to Frank C Raymond he was about 8 years old from what I can make of his naturalization paper.Its hard to read and understand.
Would there be some where that I can find out when he changed his name? Or more about him and who he resided with when he got here.
On his death certificate he's listed
Frank C Raymond born Sept 1853 - died Oct. 9, 1909
his parents are listed as D.Raymond of Portugal and Anna Quailo.His wife was Mary C.Donovan they lived in San Francisco CA.
