Do you know how common in Rumania though? My friends tell me it is not an uncommon Russian name; but today, we'd see it as a Jewish-Russian name. I am sure not all of my grandmother's family left Rumania... and I am still trying to find out the backround of my great-grandmother. Does anyone know how to obtain birth records or any such docuements from Rumania? Any info would be appreciated.
