Henry Nitschke, Sr. was married to Elizabeth Vetter. Their son, Henry, Jr., married Gustina Hensel in Kulm, Bessarabia in 1878. Shortly after that, they moved to Cataloi, Romania. In 1906 or 1907, they, along with their children (all adults), and their children's spouses, moved to Saskatchewan and homesteaded at Leader. Henry, Jr., had a twin brother, who also immigrated with his wife and at least some children, at least some of whom also settled in Saskatchewan in the general vicinity of Leader. All I know about Henry Sr. and Elizabeth Vetter is that they had four sons, Johann, Henry, Karl and Gottlieb. (I think Karl was Henry's twin, but not sure.) I know I have seen the town of Brienne mentioned somewhere in my documents, but don't have it in my genealogy computer records, so can't access it quickly. Does any of this sound familiar or useful? It's quite possible we have common ancestors, but I think Nitschke was not a real unusual name, so there could be several families. Let me know what you think!
