My grandmother was a Nitschke, also - Caroline. She married Jacob Wiese in Leader, Saskatchewan in 1912. As my other note posted today, there were several Nitschke's settled around the Leader area between 1906-1910, all from the same family. But I do not have an August Nitschke in my line that I am aware of. Also do not know of anyone in my family that migrated from Europe to US - all went to Canada as far as I can tell. I don't know where my family originated from before Bessarabia, but Henry Nitschke, Jr. and his wife Gustina were born in 1856 and 1858, respectively, I believe in Kulm, Bessarabia. I think Gustina's family may have lived in Kulm for at least two generations, but don't have any info on Henry's family origin, which is the Nitschke line. Isn't this like solving a mystery?? Both fun and frustrating! Let me know if you think we may be connected at all. My research really needs a lot of help!
