The rest you know.He came through Ellis Isaland, Leserntz, he went to South Bend Indiana to his uncle Istvan Venig, he then appears in Detroit in 1930 census as Peter Lanky, married to Jolan Szakacz, son Emil. Later he changes his name to Lenkey. My father's birth cert shows his name as Lenkey in 1928 so there must have been an error on the census Lanky 1930.
Jolan Szakacs F. Moses SzakacsM. Szuszann Szas Siblings: Helen, Mary, Rosa, Moses James (Jimmy) They lived and worked in and around the Detroit area where a high concentration of Hungarians lived.
Both Jolan and Peter align themselves as Hungarian.Peter and Jolan went to Budapest to visit his mother in 1959. Peter divorced and remarried and visited Hungary again in 1962.Theodora Lazarucz Venig died in Budapest.Istvan and wife Dora Venig, later lived in California, Tulane. My father remembers visiting him only once as a child. What else can I tell you?
