Carol Abel posted some names and although all of those are definetely Romanian I thought I'd add some more. Many Romanian names end with a "scu" or an "eanu" which are suffixes indicating "son of." Some of the most common family names as I look through my phone book include, Popescu, Ionescu, Georgescu, Marinescu, etc. If you take a name and add escu it sounds Romanian. My name (which is actually German) could become Kaslerescu, although I would most likely spell it with a C in Romanian, thus Caslerescu. Even the past three political leaders of Romania have had "Escu" names... Ceausescu, Iliescu & Constantinescu! Anyway, you get the point I'm sure! Thanks for your interest in Romania, even if only for a project! "Ciao!"
