Desperately seeking any info. on George Cunningham of Hawick in late 1700s/early 1800s. He married Betty Cook of Melrose in 1795, and they had at least 6 daughters: Beatrice(b. 1796, m. William Broadwood 1820?) Anne(b.1799, m. robert Kennedy 1839) Margaret(b. 1800, m. Thomas Turnbull) Helen(b. 1808, m. George Lunn`1847) Janet(b. 1810, m. andrew Byers) Catherine Nixon(b. 1815, m. William Scott 1842)
George and Betty may have had at least 2 sons: Andrew(b. 1812, m. Catherine? living with family at Nixons Mill, Hawick in 1841),and William(b. 1814, m. Anne Frier, living in Galashiels in 1851). George was a wool spinner and may have managed a mill at some time. All the details I have of him are from his daughters death certificates. No records of his childrens births appear in Gro records, and I have not found him in other church records held at Register House. If anyone has info on him or his family I'd very much appreciate it. Also, if anyone can suggest other avenues for research.
