Hello I understand my reply is a good few years after your original posting but I assume you are still interested in knowing about Eildon Hall? I currently live in Eildon Hall which I understand was built for Dr Thomas Mein (a naval surgeon?) between 1802 and 1806, it was then extended in 1862 for Walter Francis Montagu Douglas Scott who was the 5th Duke of Buccleuch. Eildon Hall remains the property of the current Duke of Buccleuch and it is the ancestoral home of the Earl of Dalkeith (the Duke's eldest son). I believe the house is now significantley different to that which was originally built. The house is situated in the village of Eildon between Newtown St Boswells and Melrose in the Scottish borders. I would like to find out some of the history of the house myself and would love to see a copy of the picture you have or any other information you may have. If there is any way I can help with your search please feel free to contact me.
