Hello! I have been wondering for quite a while now about my grandmothers surname Hadjim. At first it sounds turkish or bosnianmuslim (at least to me it did) but after some researching i doubted that. When asked my grandmother told me that her father was czech and that the name came from there so I tried to find out something on the web. No czech Hadjims did emerge but well a German emigrant "Johannes Hadim" (from Russia) to the U.S. in 1912. It was first then it struck me that it could actually be Hadim whithout a J since in czech a followed by an i makes a j-sound in between. Anyways I am now hopefully asking anybody out there who could help me out a bit.
