I haven't any information on George Blain as he's not in the 1940 Directory, perhaps because he was retired. I think nearly all civilian internees of the Japanese who died in captivity were buried at Bidadari Cemetery, Singapore. Now, the sad news is that in recent years that cemetery has been exhumed to make way for modern housing or MRT development. You really need to get in touch with the Singapore Authorities as to the situation. See their website http://www.hdb.gov.sg/bidadarihttp://www.hdb.gov.sg/bidadari I understand that efforts were made to contact relatives who include a number of friends of mine. Perhaps a Singaporean contributor can give a clearer picture of the situation?
