Hello Michael, Thank you kindly for your message and the information it contained. I was delighted to hear from you.
Whilst researching my Davidson ancestors who lived as planters and Land Auctioneers in Ceylon, I was advised by people including fellow researchers, who knew Gwendoline & George, that George was possibly born in Ceylon, and therefore might have been descended from Andrew Alexander Davidson, my ancestor. I have since discovered that George was born in Rangoon, Burma, in 1896, and his father was 'possibly' born in Ceylon. Unfortunately we have no proof. At that time there were several Davidson families living and working in Ceylon and there are currently three people researching those families. If you e-mail me, (firstname.lastname@example.org), I will send you some detailed reports etc, and all the details I have at present, Inc a photo of Gwendoline as a young girl, and a copy of her marriage entry.
My grandfather, Cecil M Davidson was born in Galle in 1876 and his father was Andrew Alexander Davidson who had up to 11 children, yet only a few have been found and proved. I look forward to hearing from you shortly. Julian
