I'm looking for information broadly on the STROJIN or POPISH (also spelled PAHES on a document I have) families.
The furthest back information I have is for a Joseph STROJIN, b. 10 Feb 1868, in Slovenia (one source says Longstrasse, Austria), who moved to Maynard, Belmont, Ohio as a coal miner (d. 3 Sept 1911). His mother may have been Agnes STROJIN (b. 1848). Joseph's wife was Theresa POPISH (b. 15 Sept 1876 in Slovenia, d. 1 July 1960 in Guernsey, Ohio). Her parents may have been Joseph POPISH (or Pahes) and Mary JARL.Joseph STROJIN and Theresa POPISH married before they came to the U.S. in 1905 and 1906, respectively.Any ideas? Now that I'm finally back to the "Old Country" in my sources, I'm having a hard time moving beyond that.
