Lu?e pri Ljubnem is a name for the village of Leutsch which is present day Lu?e. There are two Lu?e listed in the Atlas of Slovenia. Lu?e ob Savinji is the only one of the two in the Spodnja Štajerska region. Lu?e ob Savinji is approximately 22 miles NNE of Ljubljana. Lujbnam appears to be a reference to Ljubno ob Savinji which is 4-5 miles east of Lu?e ob Savinji.
Austria ruled the area of Slovenia for hundreds of years before the creation of Jugoslavia. The ethnic Slovenes spoke German as the language of state/business and Slovene in their home life.
