Hi. Robert is correct about Mary's Slovenian background. The marriage record at St. Mary's in Pueblo, from Jan. 15, 1906, lists his name as Jerneum Zdravje (I have been told that would havebeen Bartholomew or Jerneum. Their son was baptized in 1909 and he was baptized as Jernej/Bartolmeus). He was 30 and from Laporje. Mary Skulj, age 19, was from Pece.
Pece is southwest of Grosuplje. Laporje was due south of Pece, about 7 miles away, it appears. Google maps will give you a good idea of how close these towns were.
Jerry's parents were Francis and Maria Skulj (I know, same name as his wife). Mary's parents were Francis and Helena Sipenj (or it could be Lipenj.)
I believe Mary Skulj arrived on La Touraine, after sailing from Havre on July 22, 1905. She was said to be 18, from Grosuplje, and was going to Pueblo, CO.
I haven't found Jerry's immigration papers. He supposedly arrived in 1899 or 1900. Laibach, the hometown of Johann Zdravje, was the German name for Ljubljana.
