Newman

I am looking for information about my grandfather William Edward Newman. I don't know when he was born or where but it may have been in England or Kandy. He had 3 children my father Clarence Joseph Newman born in Calicat India 1895 and daughters Dorothy and Ivy I`ve no idea where they were born.His fathers name may have been Joseph Newman who may have been the second son of William Newman.He may have been a civil servant and then a tea planter in later years.Either in India or Ceylon. He died in Malaya before the Japanese occupation and I have no documentation as all records with destroyed before the japanese occoputation.
I have very little information to work with and if these name are familar to you could you please message me?
