I am researching my fathers family and looking for information on the following families: Salvador/Rosairo/McLennan or McLellan(d) similar.
Joseph and Angelina Salvador came from what was then known as British Hong Kong to Ceylon in or around 1882 onwards. Their children were * son Frederick Emmanual Salvador (b 22 May 1874)believed to be born in British Hong Kong * son George (K)? Salvador * daughter Agnes * daughter Catherine (b about 1884 - place not known) and married Eugene Rawdin (19/7/1905) Any information would be appreciated. Thackers Directories 1911 shows Frederick working at The Trading Co. Colombo. I understand Frederick attended Philip Neris Boys school in the Pettah and was married at this same church on 11 Jan 1899 to Beatrice Maud Rosairo.
My Paternal grandmather was - Beatrice Maud Rosairo was born in Ceylon on 15 Oct 1881 to Bernard Rosairo (Spanish - ex priest who gave up his robes) and Esther Marian McLennan or McLellan(d) or similar. They were married on 9 October 1879 at the Weslyan Chapel, Wellawathe (is there such a place still in existence) - any details would be appreciated.
Esther Marian McLennan or similar is I believedthe daughter of a Scotish Coffee planter John McLennan/McLellan(d) who came to Ceylon in the 1800's and had some connections with Cargills ...any information would be welcome.
Esther Marian married a 2nd time after the death of Rosairo (around 1895) to Edward Harris. They had one son Rudi.
Thanks for any info readers can give on all the families mentioned above.
