I just read a message you left re. Isable of Braganza and the Corea name. Anyway….i was wondering if you could help me find some info.I sent you info through your hotmail address, but it bounced....so, am trying this method.
My great grandmother or great, great grandmother is supposed to be a Corea Lama Eteni. My family have been out of Sri Lanka since 1973, and it is very hard to get info from Madampe.Wondering if you happen to have access to such info.We got disconnected from relatives, and I have been doing genealogy do find these relatives. My mother’s parents both died by the time she was about 12/13 years old…… So, she cannot remember her mother’s people much. Can you possibly help?
My mother’s mother’s family are connected to the Baptist church in Madampe. What I am looking for is info about the following:
1Don Peter Udunuwara Urulawatte Wijesundara Perera(had 12? 4? sons and 3 daughters: Edward, Lilian, Susan, William…..). He was a Pastor, Lawyer, Judge. (Built Baptist church in Madampe?Or was it his wife’s family that donated land for the Baptist church to be built in 1872? Was his wife’s family member Don Davith Dabera Wijesundera Gunasekera? http://www.lawnet.lk/docs/case_law/nlr/common/html/NLR20V359.htmhttp://www.lawnet.lk/docs/case_law/nlr/common/html/NLR20V359.htm....and are these relatives: Mr. C. E. Corea? Mudaliyar Corea?) + Harriet ?
2Edward (William/Wilium?) Udunuwara Urelawatte Wijesundara Perera of Madampe + Dorafrom a prominent Kandy family. (that had moved from Kandy to Kohilawatteand some to Madampe). Part of her family line has Herath andChilaw Corea, ( and Dabera Wijesundera? From Chilaw) [and her mother or grandmother was Corea Lama Eteni].Edward was a landowner, surveyor, and…… [ Dora’s step sister Beatrice ]
[Another question:Are you the person doing Wikipedia pages for the Corea family?]
