I am specifically seeking relatives/descendants of CPRC Volunteers A T WILSON, J H BURBERRY, J BUTLER and G J A SKEEN. In 1905 they all represented 'F' Company of the Corps as No.2 team at Diyatalawa in a competition for the Biddulph Cup; They were victorious! Each received a personal trophy, one of which I possess as G J A Skeen was my Great Grandfather. Has anyone else been fortunate enough to inherit such a memento? I would be delighted to make this trophy available to family members of those named above, subject to location, if desired.
Further to this personal element, I am eager to learn more about THE BIDDULPH CUP. What form did the trophy take? Has the trophy survived and who is the custodian? What activity would the competition have involved? Is it too simplistic to assume it was a shooting event?
I look forward to word circulating and am always optomistic a positive outcome will result in the fullness of time!!
