I am current researching James Ronald Stewart, who eventually rose to be Superintendent of Police in Ceylon in the early 1950s.He is 4th generation descended from Captain James Stewart (1794-1843) and Sara Tissera (1803-1807). The family has been in Ceylon from the early 19th century onwards.
