Norah Roberts quotes "The Roman Catholic Jesuit movement travelled the world. According to Macaulay "Everyhere, seeking arguing, consoling and stealing away the hearts of the young." Then comes a major faux pas by Miss Roberts in her book "Galle as quiet as sleep" which took her 10 years to write. According to her, the Jesuits famous saying was "Give us a boy until he is 7 years old anyone can have him after that" !!!!! No, No Please Miss Roberts , even at that age a young child is still highly impressionable. The correct Jesuitical saying of which the first part above is correct i.e. Give me the boy etc, "AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE MAN. A very clear example of childhood indoctrination as happens in ALL RELIGIONS and 'isms such as Marxism, Nazism, Maoism etc etc. I learned to pray before I could talk properly.Repeating after my mother in parrot fashion,"Jesus tender 'Leopard' be thou near me, keep me safe till morning light"!!!Leopards do however, play a part in my firm environmental beliefs now.I believed in Santa Claus and fairies too. Bible studies taught me how the Creator formed our Planet in 7 days and now there is a Museum in the USA with Dinosaurs striding the earth with humans!!. Give over!!Scientologists teach that man was begat by extra terrestials .. Crop circles by the latter coming to earth in UFO's Those that really made them tell us how, but no, the sceptics still are adamant. How strong the imagination of the deluded. Thank heaven at age 9 I found a book of my father's "The wonderful story of YOU" and learned of Darwin.Sadly, my religious education taught me to be very bigoted indeed. All hellfire & damnation in Lutheran churches and arrogant regarding atheism.Considering both my grandmas were Buddhist this was amazing. So I became a born again and confirmed Agnostic instead having widely read about the World's major religions and came to some simple conclusions " The world is NOT flat, Malaria is not caught by bad humours, etc, etc. I now give credence to a very wise North American native observance: "Man belongs to the earth and NOT earth to man"That really put things in perspective "We walk this way but once" and what an enormous environmentally damaging footprint we are selfishly leaving our descendants to cope with .Thankfully, I escaped the Jesuits altho' I can recite the Rosary learned at age seven. I have children and grandchild and Yes, indeed , a little child's mind is like a lump of clay in intellectual matters. What you teach then them is oft what they believe later with a very great input from their peers.
