B.G.Thornley - Ceylon 1932 I am trying to trace a Mr B.G. Thornley, who was very friendly with my great aunt in 1932, in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). She is now 92 and at Christmas was reminiscing of the past, speaking highly of "BG".
I'm thinking it would be wonderful to locate him, if he was still alive.
The information I have is: -he met my great aunt, Irene ("Rene") Chambers, in Ceylon, where my grandfather, Geoffrey P. Chambers was working for Harrison and Crossfield. -BG, as he was known, was the son of a clergyman who ministered in Norfolk, and later in Hampshire.
I'd love to know whether BG was still alive. If so, then I know my great aunt would love to speak with him.
Alternatively, if there are any relatives of BG there, then they may enjoy hearing some wonderful stories of a charming man from his time in Ceylon. My great aunt is still very clear in her mind, and has an amazing memory for the smallest details.
With many thanks in advance to any one who may be able to help
