I am writing the biography of the late Air Vice Marshal Ekanayake Edward (Rohan) Amerasekera DFC and Bar, Royal Ceylon Air Force. He had served as a young officer in the RAF Bomber Command during WW2, as a Navigator with No 158 and No 640 Squadrons. He completed two tours (52 Ops) and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Bar. Later he joined the Royal Ceylon Air Force at its inception in 1951 and rose to the rank of AVM. He was the first Ceylonese to command the RCyAF (1962-70) AVM. Amerasekera died in 1974. I would like to hear from any one who knew him at any stage of his life as I am looking for details, anecdotes, photos etc...to include in his biography. Thank you, Charles A.
