Hello Duane

Ostkaka is a speciality mainly of Småland, but it was made also in Östergötland. So although Kristdala is the best guess, Hycklinge is also possible - especially as it lies just at the Småland-Östergötland border.
It could not be an old Christmas tradition, for in the old days milk and eggs were scarce in the winter.
Sorry if this is more confusion than information.
