A comment about locations. "Östmark, Vitsand, Nyskoga" might suggest to some that this is a single place. In fact, Östmark, Vitsand and Nyskoga are all separate parishes in Värmland county. They all lie next to each other in northern Värmland on the border with Norway. Furthermore, none of those parishes existed by those names during the time Anders Vaissinen lived. Östmark and Vitsand were part of Fryksände parish in the 1600s. Likewise, Nyskoga was at that time part of Norra Ny parish (itself then called just as 'Ny' parish).
