Hello Regine, Sorry it has been so long since you posted your reply to me. I haven't checked this site very often, and had sort of given up on the Sperisen family. Thank you so much for your offer of help
I have done extensive research on the Ft. Wayne, Indiana Sperisen family and can find no connection. (Joseph and Mary Anne and children Caroline Franz Cresenzia, Alex.) There was another family in New Haven Ind, that were likely distant cousins, Vicktor Sperisen was the son. That family died out with no heirs. I think the Ft. Wayne family died out also. So those are both dead ends. I have an extensive private Sperisen genealogy given to me by someone from a Sperisen family in Switzerland. "My" Sperisens are on it, but not my friend's family.
Again, the information I have is Euris Uris (probably Ursus) Sperisen, b.and his wife Magdalena ??? b.... they would have had a baby with them in 1870 when they arrived in the US. They had a son, Henry George in 1877, who was the father of my friend.I have not been able to find their ship listing. My grandfather arrived the same year, but I have not been able to find his listing either. This family, Euris, and Magdalena settled in the Richond Virginia area, and the family lived there all their lives. The son Henry had 7 children, and my friend is the only surviving one. There are some nieces, but the family name has died out. A couple of the neices are researching aslo but haven't had any more luck than I have.
Niederswil, Solothurn is where most of the Sperisens are from. But there are hundreds of Sperisen families in the area. I was hoping to find a ship list, but they may have come Seerage and so been unlisted, or if they were it may not list their home town. Later lship lists often had this information. So I thonk you for your help, but I think I am at a dead and with this one. Thanks, r walker
