I would like to exchange information with anyone researching the above surnames, Zurich to America. There were several Johann Conrad Wirz (Wirth/Wirt/Wertz/Wert) generation after generation in Zurich...all documented...the one being born on 30Nov1706, became a Lutheran Reformed Preacher; to America and Philadelphia in 1735..Ship Mercury, arrived 29May1735...he lived in Germantown area, part of Buck's, now Lehigh County, ...his first child Anna Maria Magdalena beingbaptized at Christ Church in Phila on 20 Aug 1735...this Conrad became a school master of Old Goshenhoppen, now Montgomery Co., and then Conestoga, now Lancaster Co., PA.In 1742, Conrad became pastor of the Egypt Church, in Whitehall Twp., in Bucks Co., now Lehigh. In 1750, Conrad moved to Lebanon, NJ where he lived until 1762...was ordained in 1752 in NJ...first reformed minister in NJ.In 1762, he was installed as pastor at the Zion Reformed Church, York, PA....there until he died on 21Sep1763....buried under the alter of the church. This Rev. Johannes Conrad Wurtz married to an Anna Goetachius...one daughter and five sons. Three of those sons, Conrad, John, Peter and Maurice Wirtz lived in NJ..Hunterdon County. This one will be an interesting one to research, and I think you will find your Ulerich/Ulrich Wirth connected in some way to this family.I also suspect that the John R. (Rudolph??)Wert b. 1794; d. 1863 in Hunterdon County, NJ...moved to OH.For him, there are two or three sons that would need to be checked for John R. Wert: Peter Wirtz b. ab. 1750 married 3Feb1774 at Oldwick, Hunterdon Co., NJ to Eleonora Rudolfs; Maurice b. ab. 1752 in NJ married 19Aug1779 at Amwell Twp., Hunterdon Co. NJ to Sarah Williamson.
