Dear Serge,
Kudo's to YOU!!!!
You have know idea how much you have done for me.Your first message gave just enough to stretch myself and look over some of the German information your link's provided.I only recognized every few words but it was enough to get me into a link that listed four Monhardt sur-names relpeat with e-mail addresses.I have heard from two possible Monhardt relatives already and have wonderful results.
It seems that one message states that his relative was mayor of Munster, France around 1930, which means that there should be lots of photos and documentation of this person. It also turns out that he lives in the same town that my research shows my husband's great grandfather and grandfather lived.
The other was very exciting as he related that there is actually a town or townland named Monhardt. He included the means to click right onto the map of Monhardt, Germany immediately and added a photo of the Townland Sign in color.
with information about a plaque in the city saying that the Count and Church taxed the community, thereby making it fortuitous to re-locate to Switzerland and France for econmic reasons.Thank you! Thank you!
Now I have even more to help me, I am so grateful and you can be sure that the other Monhardt potential cousins are as well.
