Yes, I do have the marriage registration and it names William's father as William Boucher. However, I believe it might be possible he lied about this as he might have been too young (under 21) at the time he got married and would have needed parental consent. Subsequent Census returns give different years/ages of birth/age and also different places in Shropshire as his birth place. There isn't actually a William Boucher in Shropshire who had a son born in 1857, making me wonder if his father had a different forename. If William Boucher was estranged from his family in Shropshire or felt they would not give their consent to his marriage he may have lied to enable him to get married. It was easier to lie then and there were fewer records to check even though it was a criminal offence to knowingly provide false information.
