my first thought "Decorative letters .. oh my god!" just joking ;-)
Google translate is a fine thing.
Thank you very much for all your work!
I was now one hour looking at Google maps where all these towns and I'm really astonished.
The Karl Schick, I'm looking for, was born in Kobylnica Ruska. This is just on the other side of the border Poland - Ukraine. Routeplaner means this will be 1,5 hours away from Pustomyty, where most of the Nesel/Nessel today lives.
If his mother Elisabeth Nessel is the one I found in the familybook of Oleszyce (than her husband has the wrong first name, but this is an other story) than she had a married sister living in Kobylnica Ruska. Maybe there lived more people of this family.
The wife of Karl Schick, Katharina Barbara Leib, came from West-Galicia, so I don't wonder that there is noone with the names Leib or Metzger (her parents).
Even if it does not directly help, I'm glad that you gave me these informations. Cause I do not only search the naked dates of the persons - I also want to know as much as I can about the background.
"My" family Schick lived some years in Cieplice, Poland, but cause it was around 1900 no good life for Germans in Galicia, they went with two little childrens to Posen. Like many other Germans also did. I'm sure that they took other family members with them, but could not find out whichones.
I have no birth records nor marriage record of them, and the names of the parents are only "hearsay".
If I want to find out where a churchbook in Poland is, I can search by an internet address. Do you know if there is a similar address for archives in Ukraine? Or, do you know how to find out in which archiv which books are hold?
