Hania, A clue from anestry.com's forum led me to check out the Canadian province of Manitoba's vital statistic's website (I had no diea this sort of thing was online). I found a marriage for a Danylo Koschlak and Anna Bruchanska in February of 1914 - this fits, and their first son was born at the end of 1914 - in the same small county where my Daniel and Anny lived (Brokenhead, Manitoba). I have not heard of a Bruchanska at all yet, and have been told Benzik/Bendzak this whole time.
Maybe it is Bruschanska I am looking for in Podhajce.
Yes, I found the second page of the manifests now. I just didn't know before that there was more information to be found! Very good.
I am hesitant to ask someone to do paid research for me yet. I would prefer to exhaust every resource in my reach from where I am until I am sure I can find no more, and must consult someone local in Ukraine...
Hania, thank you! and Zlatica too! This has been a most helpful message board! I didn't know Ukrainians were so passionate about their ancestry! :)
