Dubno search
I am looking for any information regarding grandfather's birth.
Born: May 13, either 1899 or 1900.
Parents divorced about May 1912.
Believed to be the oldest of 5 children.
3 sisters lived with mother, 2 boys lived with father.
Parents remarried, grandfather did not get along with new stepmother and left home in early 1900's. He traveled to various cities in Russia with a companion.
Immigrated to America: 1916.
He spoke Russian, German and Polish.
We have complete records from 1916 on.
Naturalization papers unavailable.
He would never speak of his life prior to his immigration and strove to cover up traces of his early life.
He was adopted in Denver Colorado in 1916. It is believed that he traveled there to contact either a family friend, or relative.
His father's name may have been Boris. Last name may have been Dzwoniecki. He may have worked for Singer Sewing Machine.
Any help or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
