I am a direct descendant of McClures of the Convoy/Raphoe area of Donegal Ireland. Our family line DNA links Richard McClure or Findrum to the Halbert McClure line of Raphoe.
There would appear that there is confusion as to who is Halbert's [bc 1684 Raphoe] father. Several sources have James Andrew McClure and the alternate line is Arthur McClure. Both lines have firm convictions and maybe strong claims. But it would appear due to the lack of strong leads it maybe time to get the various oral histories and try and piece together [or even solve] a probable scenario.
Would the relative parties like to share their oral histories and be prepared to debate?
