John L. Williams [1831-1912] was son of William Williams [1805-1890] and Alice Parry, daughter of John Parry & Margaret Jones of Groessford, Llewesog, Denbighshire.William, John's father was a convicted poacher sentenced to Transportation in March 1833. Alice was fortunate in returning to her family home, Groessford, where she reared her children.John Parry farmer and shoemaker helped his grandchildren John and William1 [833-1820] by supporting their training as corn millers. John appears to have been married twice.Jane, wife #1 was mother of Thomas Parry Williams, b. Wrexham 1858 & Mary A. Williams, b.1864 Wrexham. John later m. Letitia [1841-1907]. Letitia may have been Letitia Daisy Bohon Ellis of Anglesey. Both John & Letitia d. in Chester, England having moved to Chester about 1872.John was remembered for his stories of the early mills of Wales. Their children included William Williams, age 11; Alice, age 9 & Hannah Ellen Williams,b.1876 Chester. Much of this information was supplied through the efforts of William Hartley.
