Hi, I only just saw your posting, from our records I find that William B. King came to Skagway about 1898 and worked for the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad as the auditor and accountant. He was also a member of the Arctic Brotherhood in 1900; Skagway City Council 1903-4; Skagway Mayor in 1905; and head of the Skagway Elks. From the 1900 census he was born in September of 1865 in Michigan and came to Skagway from Seattle and the family left here in 1921. He was listed in the 1905 and 1909 City Directory and is mentioned in Pennington's book,"Klondike stampeders register:A chronology of the Klondike gold rush, 1897-1898". His wife was May Farrington Murnane(?) born April 1857 in Minnesota and also worked for White Pass in the head office. Her records were found in the 1900 census; the online history of Anoka County; the 1905 city directory; and Washington State records online. Margaret Elizabeth King, born April 13, 1902 in Skagway was their daughter. I found her records at the San Diego Historical site online. There was also a Helen F. King born September 1898 in Minnesota and also worked for WP&YR and later as a nurse in Dawson. She married Kenneth McCrae. Source was the 1900 census. I did not have a record for Robert.
